JOIN OR SET UP A LOCAL SOLIDARITY GROUP
There has never been a more important time to join our network. Forced displacement has reached record levels, while refugee-led organisations, especially in the Global South, remain under-recognised, under-resourced, and often excluded from the decisions that affect them and their own communities.
By setting up or joining a local solidarity group, you become part of a social movement, you leverage the power of your local network, and you use your skills and talents to co-create new forms of solidarity, support refugee-led organisations and reshape the narrative around refugees.
We're looking for volunteers driven by a genuine commitment to refugee agency and impact in the Global South, who are ready to help set local solidarity groups or offer their time, social capital and skills to promote the activities of their local solidarity groups. You are a good fit if you are collaborative, adaptable, and empowering of others, comfortable with disagreement, curious, and able to work both independently and in a team. Experience in fundraising, event organisation, communication or community mobilisation is a plus.

CALLS Network local solidarity groups are looking for volunteers who feel an urge to support refugees in the Global South and make a difference through solidarity with refugee-led organisations engaged in humanitarian action. Whether you are motivated by a personal connection to the cause, lived experience, or simply a desire to do something meaningful, this is a great opportunity to contribute your time and expertise and be part of a community working toward real change.
The ideal volunteer would like to share their expertise and work with others to co-create initiatives in support of refugees in the Global South. CALLS Network local solidarity groups provide the opportunity to be part of a highly diverse, inclusive and empowering team, learn about refugee issues in the Global South and apply or develop skills in communications, fundraising, community mobilisation, problem-solving, and teamwork. Our volunteers share their expertise in organisational management, financial and HR management, project management, writing funding proposals and other relevant areas for refugee-led organisations.

Partnering with CALLS Network means joining a global solidarity movement committed to shifting power in the humanitarian ecosystem.
CALLS aims to bring together diverse partners around a shared commitment to solidarity, localisation and refugee-led action. Schools could raise awareness and build a culture of solidarity by connecting with schools hosting refugee children in the Global South. INGOs may help move beyond subcontracting toward genuine power-sharing and locally led approaches. National NGOs may build peer partnerships with refugee-led organisations rooted in mutual respect. Academic partners can co-produce knowledge with grassroots organisations for participatory, evidence-based research. Artists and art institutions can support refugee-led creative initiatives and amplify refugee voices in Europe. Cities and local authorities may join a Solidarity Cities network, demonstrating commitment through city-to-city learning.
Partners benefit from stronger local insight, more legitimate and inclusive partnerships, shared learning across regions, and opportunities to support refugee leadership in practice, while contributing to responses that are more relevant, accountable, and resilient for forcibly displaced communities.

CALLS Network helps bridge gaps between funding and frontline refugee actors and communities by connecting donors with refugee-led organisations, supporting more equitable, accountable, and impactful use of resources. Donors can support refugee agency in humanitarian action directly through trusted, locally rooted partnerships.
